ProQuest EBook Central
One of the best tools available at the library is eBook
Central. You can access this service anywhere using your school laptop. There are several quick tutorials to help you
get
started.
They have other tools as well you can use. This video
“shows you how to create and organize a bookshelf, add folders and annotations,
and manage your downloads.”
Use Book
Detail Page to find important details about a book, including summaries,
information about the author, reviews and more. We’ll also show you how to
navigate to specific sections and subsections of a book using the table of
contents.
Easy to find, just go to our webpage, then to Library resources;
electronic resources; Choose Ebook
Central. You will need to sign up
the first time. Use your SDSMT email address and a password you will
remember. After you are in you can
either type in a title or subject. I like to use the browser feature if I am
not sure of exactly what I want. You can always refine your search on the left
hand side of the screen by year, subject, author, language. In addition if you
only want the titles that the library subscribes to you can narrow your search
that way as well. If you do not have adobe digital editions you will need to
download it to your devise, before you can download an ebook.
You can access EBook Central during the summer if you are a
faculty/staff member or a preregistered student. Use VPN to access from off
campus.
Ebook Central is a great way to keep up with new and
exciting material remotely. This collection is also cataloged in Primo.
