Dakota School of Mines:August 19, 1885

Happy Anniversary! 125 years ago today, on August 19, 1885, the cornerstone of the first building for the Dakota Territory School of Mines was dedicated. South Dakota School of Mines: August 12, 1943 & 1962

August 12, 1943 - Geology Department installs a Seismograph, placed into operation on this date. [The Hardrock. Alumni Association, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. September/October, 1943, vol. 10, no. 1, pg.7] 1962 - Seismograph moved from O'Harra building to its own building on the hill just to the west of the present Goodell Gymnasium [Stymiest, Ruth Anne.
