In 1974 the School of Mines, in
cooperation with the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce, spearheaded a carpool
project. Interested parties submitted their contact information as well
as home and work locations and expected schedules and received a list of
prospective carpool partners. Maybe it’s time to revisit this idea?
We might save some gasoline, wear and tear on vehicles and roads, and maybe
even free up a parking place or two.
