Worldcat on Facebook

http://worldcat.org/toolbars/ This Facebook Application gives you access to WorldCat searches and user-created lists from personalized pages within your Facebook account. The application includes a Home screen with WorldCat search box, as well as quick links to WorldCat searches based on topics listed in your Facebook profile as personal interests. The application also includes: a built-in advanced WorldCat search a panel that allows you to invite other Facebook friends to install WorldCat a "Something to Read" panel that displays books recently added to WorldCat lists a "Favorite WorldCat Lists" panel where you can track your own lists or those of other WorldCat users

Digitization

The South Dakota Board of Regents (SDBOR) has provided funding, system wide, for the purchase of equipment and software to be used for a digitization project. The equipment will be housed in the various regental libraries. We expect hardware to begin arriving soon, and plan to spend the next several months learning to use the equipment and software while we make a master plan for digitization. We already have several smaller projects in mind (some of the items in the campus archives, photos held by the museum, alumni information, etc.) We are soliciting your input as we begin planning for digitization. Do you have documents, photos, video’s etc. that should be preserved for scholars in the future? Does your department or organization have items pertaining to the history of the campus or the area that should be included in our “digital archives?” Items can be digitized and returned to you, or added to the campus archives.
