South Dakota School of Mines: 1901

Fees for the school fixed at $3.00 per term for tuition and $3.00 per term for incidentals [Seventh Biennial Report of the Regents of Education of the State of South Dakota to the Governor for the Biennial Period Ending June 30, 1902 Fiscal Years 1900, 1901, 1902: Transmitted to the Legislature at the Seventh Biennial Session, 1903. 1902, pg. 121]

South Dakota School of Mines: 1902

"... the main building, but recently completed, will be occupied for the first time at the beginning of the next school year. It is a handsome structure of pressed brick with sandstone trimmings and basement. In this building are the offices of the president, the assembly room, chemical and physical laboratories, mechanical drawing room and several lecture rooms. The work of the department of chemistry is conducted in four rooms on the second floor of the main building. "In this building are also located the physical laboratory and the mechanical drawing room." [Arum, 1902]

December - President Slagle resigns, accepts Presidential appointment to the Agricultural College in Brookings. [Ninth Biennial Report of the Regents of Education of the State of South Dakota to the Governor for the Biennial Period Ending June 30, 1906, Fiscal Years 1904, 1905. 1906, pg. 8, 125, 202] (Slagle was also President at USD, his appointment there began in 1914.)
