A message from ITS

Folks~ The ITS Help Desk and Faculty Help Desk has been moved from EP 140 to the much more convenient location in the basement of the Library. The Desk is located between the computer lab and the Tablet Shop. This location will serve the IT needs of the entire SDSM&T computing community. Currently, hours of operation are 7:30 am - 7:00pm M-Th and 7:30am- 5pm on Fridays. Hours may soon change based on the needs of our customers. Phone numbers are 394-1234 and 394-1294. Please visit us at our new location! The large format printer will remain in the ITS offices. Both Rick MacDonald and I will be happy to assist you with your printing needs. News from the South Dakota State Library

South Dakota citizens will have access November 1, 2006 to two South Dakota newspapers, online reference books, and practice tests through three new databases provided by the South Dakota State Library for statewide access. “These new resources are a part of the new mission of the State Library and represent an important piece of the State Li brary’s support of library services on the local level,” said Dorothy Liegl, Stat e Librarian. The new databases are: American Newspapers —Aberdeen American News and the Sioux Falls Argus Leader. Citizens can browse current and archived news articles, editorials, reviews, birth and marriage announcements, obituaries and a variety of special sections. It will be useful for general reference or to research local and national issues, events, people, government, education, arts, business, sorts, real estate and much more.
